Warmly Inviting you to A truly unmissable event for modern day practitioners of Yoga, Ayurveda, Vedanta, Tantra & Bhakti.

Soma Yoga Freiburg is honoured to host a rare in-person weekend with Dr. David Frawley (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri) and Yogini Shambhavi — 3 days of Yoga, Ayurveda and Vedic wisdom.
A truly unmissable event for modern day practitioners of Yoga, Ayurveda, Vedanta, Tantra & Bhakti.

Dr David Frawley — Pandit Vamadeva Shastri — has spent more than fifty years in the study, practice and teaching of the Vedas, Yoga, Ayurveda, Vedanta, mantra and Jyotish. In 2015 the Government of India awarded him the Padma Bhushan, one of the country’s highest civilian honours and a rare recognition for a Western teacher. He now travels to Europe only rarely — this is his sole European appearance in 2026. Alongside him, Yogini Shambhavi brings a living current of bhakti, mantra and Shakti sadhana, teaching not as theory but as direct, embodied experience.

Dr. Frawley has spent more than 50 years in deep study, practice and teaching of the Vedas, Yoga, Ayurveda, Vedanta, mantra and Jyotish (Vedic Astrology). He is one of the outstanding pioneers who brought vedic knowledge and Ayurveda to the west and one of the most respected Western teachers and authors in the field of Vedic wisdom. His work presents Yoga not merely as physical practice, but as a complete path of healing, self-knowledge and spiritual transformation.

Bhakti · Shakti sadhana · mantra

Yogini Shambhavi is a yogini and spiritual guide from India, rooted in Bhakti Yoga, Shakti Sadhana, Devi worship, Mantra Yoga and meditation. Her teaching brings the living power of mantra, devotion, ritual and sacred practice into a direct and embodied experience.

Both David Frawley and Yogini Shambhavi have been important teachers for me personally. Their work has deeply shaped my own understanding of Yoga, Ayurveda, mantra and inner practice. David Frawley’s books have accompanied generations of yoga practitioners, Ayurveda students, astrologers and spiritual seekers around the world. He is a true incarnation of a vedic Rishi and at this stage of his life, he travels to Europe only rarely — and this will be his *only event in Europe in 2026*. Don’t miss it!

    The weekend

We live in a time and age of increasing stress, digital overstimulation and constant distraction. The program offers an experiential journey into Yoga, Ayurveda and Vedic wisdom as practical paths for clarity, healing and inner transformation. Through teachings, meditation, mantra, pranayama, ritual and reflection, we will explore how to guide the life-force, Prana Shakti, inward — into a deeper space of awareness beyond stress, distraction and emotional reactivity. The weekend invites us to create a more conscious relationship with body, mind, heart and spirit, and to rediscover inner steadiness and spiritual depth in the midst of our modern digital age.

From the yogic perspective, true well-being arises when we remember that our deeper identity is rooted in pure consciousness, not merely in the body or mind. From this recognition, the emotions can begin to flow with greater peace, spaciousness and inner joy.

The sanskrit word “Soma” means the nectar of immortality, and points us towards the nourishment that fulfils and brings joy which can only be drawn from the wellspring of consciousness found within.
